The startup boom has taken the world by storm, with the number and size of global angel investment or venture capital for early stage investment reaching record high. In addition to solving the problem of access to capital faced by many startups, angel investors and early stage Smart Money play active roles in helping the startup development with their experiences and networks, and hence drive the growth and make great contribution to creating jobs.  

With a view to creating a dynamic Smart Money market and healthy startup ecosystem, Global Angel & Early Stage Investment Summit will be held on September 6-7, 2016 at Room 201 of National Taiwan University Hospital International Convention Center by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and is organized by the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER). By exploring the investment practice, experience and insightful opinions, the purpose of this summit is to enhance the networks and entrepreneurial exposures to investors, to motivate the early stage investment and create a vibrant startup ecosystem. The summit is divided into four parts: keynote speech, panel discussion, investor spotlight and speed dating. Global angel investors and active venture capitals will be invited to participate in the event for intellectual exchanges on innovation issues, meanwhile bringing dynamic discussions together with entrepreneurs.

The morning sessions of the two-day summit will start with keynote speeches, summit talks joined by angel investors, as well as introduction to the investment institutes. On day two, Speed Dating will be participated by domestic and foreign angel investors and startup entrepreneurs in the afternoon session. Startup products and services demonstration will also be arranged outside the conference room. Global Angel & Early Stage Investment Summit welcomes investors, startup entrepreneurs and industrial leaders to join hands for building up a better startup ecosystem in Taiwan.
